The Saturday 7

1.My computer bit the dust this week. A new one is on its way, but until then, it's going to be difficult to write the Saturday 7. I'm typing this on my phone, which I am horrible at, so consider yourself forewarned. 2. Christmas was wonderful as usual. We went to the Christmas Eve service at church and no one started anything on fire with their candle. Then most of the fam headed to Niki's for snacks and hanging out. Some of us spent the night. The girls hardly slept and Levi didn't fall asleep until midnight, but everyone was up and at 'em by 8 to find stockings as we waited for the rest of the family to show up. It is impossible to format this on my phone, so just look at the pictures and make up your own captions in your heads. We spent the day playing cards and enjoying our new toys. 1. Christmas is in 3 days!!!!! Are you excited?!?! I love Christmas so much. It doesn't stress me out. I love planning and shopping (thank you, Amazon Prime) and wrapping. I think we're fortunate that our families all live nearby and we don't celebrate with all of them the actual day of Christmas. I love the excuse to do fun activities with my kids and buy them presents. I went a little overboard this year (do I say that every year?), but I already warned the girls that if we buy a house next year, Christmas will not be as elaborate. The house is going to be their big gift. Haha. Here's hoping! 2. I felt bad for Justin this year. Since I pour so much time, energy (and money) into making Christmas fun for our kids, he gets a little neglected. So this year I decided to try the 12 Days of Christmas thing that has been going around Pinterest. It was way harder than I anticipated to come up with gifts that correlate with the days - that are things he'd actually want! H

1. Another fun week of counting down to Christmas. I'm actually shocked at how close we are already. Usually December drags and I feel like we have to wait forever, but I just realized that next week is the last week before Christmas! Whoa! My shopping is done. Now I just have 10 hours of wrapping to do. When am I supposed to do that since my kids never go to school and they pretty much don't sleep? (Case in point: they're all awake upstairs. It is 10:25 pm. Lucy just came downstairs for something.) 2. Our first advent activity this week was something the girls have been wanting to do for ages. I left Levi with my dad and took the girls to an indoor ice arena for ice skating. They've never been, and I'm horrendous, so I wasn't sure how it would go. I honestly thought they would enjoy it, though. I was woefully wrong. As soon as we got our skates on, Lucy started whining that they hurt her feet. But they were still smiling before we got on the ice: Lucy m
