The Saturday 7

1. We went back to the ENT for Levi this week. We went in November and the doctor said Levi was "on the cusp" of needing tubes, but wanted us to wait it out. When he got an ear infection last month, our regular doctor sent us back to the ENT. He also had a hearing test since the combination of his delayed speech and frequent ear infections raises a red flag. He and I sat in a little room and waited for a noise from either side of the room. If Levi turned his head toward the noise, he got a point. Then at the end, the technician (who was standing outside the room) asked Levi a question. He immediately started shaking his head no. The good news is that Levi heard her and passed the test. The bad news is that I could not hear a word she was saying. I'm blaming it on my cold, but I know I have some hearing loss even when I'm in perfect health. Great. Anyway, the ENT still wasn't concerned and said he doesn't need tubes. I don't care what our pediatrician s

1. What a terrible week. Last Thursday, Lucy came down with a random fever. She was whiny and lethargic, but didn't have any other symptoms. The fever lasted 3 days, but she woke up fine on Sunday. So of course Levi came down with it by Sunday afternoon. His fever has been on and off all week, combined with a nasty cold. We all have coughs, and 2/3 of my kids puke when they cough, so I've been cleaning up puke all week. Plus, Levi has had diarrhea all week. One day it actually went up his back like the old infant days! My cold came on slowly, starting Monday, but getting worse every day until I wanted to die. I don't think I've ever had a cold this bad. And I've had a fever off and on too. I spent pretty much all week laying on the couch or in bed. I think I managed to do 4 loads of laundry and I made one meal, but for the most part my family has been on their own and my kids have been watching a lot  of TV. Thank goodness for Justin and my mom who have kept the hou

1. I forgot to tell you guys about the "Homeschool Mom" sample pack I got with my curriculum last week: The jean skirt is a staple in every homeschool mom's wardrobe. Fortunately these are cheap at local thrift stores. I'm going to need one for every day of the week. We're obviously throwing out the birth control. Now that we've committed to homeschooling, we're taking this lifestyle all the way. 3 kids is absolutely not enough. Fortunately we've got a good start with alliteration. Unfortunately we've strayed from strictly Biblical names. Never fear, we will soon remedy that with Lois, Laban, Lachish, Lazarus, Lot, Lebanon, and Laodecia. The Beginner's Guide to Essential Oils is key for any new homeschool family. Down with traditional medicine. Have the sniffles? There's an oil for that. Behavior problems? Oil. Toxic mold? No match for Thieves! Turtlenecks in every shade (and a pattern fit for every holiday) are the perfect complem

1. We made it to March! Spring is coming! Winter is almost over! (One can dream.) We had a busy last week of February. Levi's birthday was Wednesday . . . ish. We choose to celebrate on the 28th. I'm not going to explain this every year. Haha. We met up with some friends that morning to go to the children's museum. I drove since my vehicle fits everyone. I hate driving downtown, and Christina had to help me park, but we survived and the kids had a blast. Lena on the rock wall Levi in his happy place Big bubbles The iconic yellow car That night we celebrated with pizza and presents. I didn't make him a cake because he's two and doesn't care and I'd end up eating it all myself. Lol. He had a lot of help opening his presents.  2. I splurged and bought myself some very expensive foundation this week. Every where I go lately people ask me if I'm tired or if I just woke up or if I'm ok. I finally told the last person, "I'
