The Saturday 7

1. I am loving school. Taking classes you're interested in really makes all the difference. This week, I got to research a children's book illustrator and write a brief summary of his life/artistic style. And I got to pretend to be a reference librarian and help an imaginary library patron find information. I'm loving the class with the new professor I was initially nervous about. She's strict, but I thrive on knowing exactly what's expected of me and being rewarded for doing it well. She's also very enthusiastic in her grading. I'm pretty sure her favorite word is "outstanding" and I have no doubt she tells everyone their work is outstanding, but I love the positive reinforcement. Lol. #millenial 2. I read a couple good chick-lit type books this week that were surprisingly clean for not being Christian fiction. (Some swearing and romantic involvement - but nothing graphic.) The first was The Little Bookshop of Love Stories  by Jaimie Admans. It...

1. I took the week off from facebook. I've been having some anger issues lately that are only compounded by social media. I enjoyed the lack of conflict, but had a fair bit of FOMO. I'll have to take classes full time this summer, fall, winter, spring, and next summer, but then I'll be fully edumacated! [Side note: there's no red squiggly line under edumacated. Apparently it's a legit word!] This summer I'm just taking Introduction to Microsoft Word, Health and Wellness, English Composition 2, and Social Media Marketing. I...

1. Despite church being cancelled, we were able to have a somewhat normal Easter.  I scaled back a little on Easter baskets this year because I'm getting burnt out on materialism. Haha.  Levi named that plushy thing Robotic Squishy Bubbles and is totally obsessed with him. Lena got that "Birds of Michigan" book from the library a year ago and loved it so much when I saw it at Goodwill last week, I snapped it up.  We watched the sermon online, then went to Justin's parents' for a deliciously traditional ham dinner and cards. It was a gorgeous day, so when we got home, I did an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Lucy was there too. She's just picture-averse these days. 2. Monday was the first day of Spring Break. We kicked it off with sleeping in, playing with Nova, and going to the park.  It was so warm, the kids actually broke out the shorts! The weather was beautiful the first three days of Spring Break, so we had a parade of neighbor kids coming and going through...
