The Saturday 7

Good news, everyone: we made it halfway through February! Whew! But this week was a doozy . . . 1. Contrary to my assertions last week, the weekend wasn't long enough for Levi to get over his sickness. He came down with a fever Saturday afternoon, and it didn't break until Tuesday night! He literally did not get off the couch for 4 days. He hardly ate, puked anytime he did  eat, and had a wet, phlegmy cough all week. We decided to skip our Superbowl party on Sunday, which ended up being a good choice since I had some major stomach distress that evening. I woke up Monday morning with intense stomach cramps and ended up calling in sick to work, even though I despise  inconveniencing people. I'm not sure if I had exactly what Levi had. I never had a fever, and I never puked. But I had terrible stomach cramps for three days - especially after eating. I ended up losing three pounds because I was eating so little. I spent most of those three days on the couch as well.  Actual f...

The Saturday 7

First of all, thanks for all the love on my Arizona posts. I have jealousy issues, so I scroll right past people's vacation photos. I'm always surprised when people actually interact with mine! Lol. Way to not be jealous wretches like me!  1. I have to catch up on a little bit from last week that I left out, namely: homecoming. I was the queen of homecoming in my hey dey (not literally - our school didn't do homecoming court), and it's fun to see my kids get excited about it as they get older . . . well, mostly Lena. Lucy is a lot like her dad was back in the day and only participates to the extent that she won't embarrass herself. Lena went all out, just like I used to. Monday was apparently the only day I took pictures: crazy hair day. She finally attempted the cupcake buns that we've seen all over the Internet, and they were so cute! Justin and I haven't attended the homecoming games in years , but this year happens to be the 20th anniversary of our gradu...

Lena's Birthday and the Arizona Recap

Image
I have two weeks to catch up on, and one of them includes our Arizona vacation, so I hope you're comfy. Settle in for the long haul. 1. Last Monday was Lena's 10th birthday. It worked out that the kids had the day off of school for a teacher work day, so we were able to spend some quality time together before the big vacay. She got the traditional breakfast in bed of cinnamon rolls and one present. She really wanted heely-s for Christmas, but I didn't find a good deal on them until the beginning of January. One perk of a January birthday I guess! Levi made sure that Stella got in on the birthday action Later that day, she and I got pedicures. I was astounded by how expensive it was. And the guy who did my toes totally "salon shamed" me the whole time. He kept showing me all the ingrown toenails he removed and made a big deal about how much dead skin he scrubbed off my feet. Eventually he said, "How often you get pedicures?" I told him "very rarely...
