The Saturday 7

1. Thanks to starting school earlier than usual this August, we had a whole week off for Thanksgiving. I had big plans to get so much done . . . and then I got sick and was forced to rest for most of the week. Boo. I was fairly miserable until Wednesday, when I finally turned the corner. Suffice it to say my kids watched a lot of TV, and I did a lot of sleeping/scrolling/laying on ice.

2. On Tuesday, Levi and Lena were adamant that we put up our Christmas tree. I explained to them that it's not that easy. First we have to clean the living room and rearrange the furniture. My back was still pretty bad at that point, so I warned them that they would have to help me. Of course they eagerly agreed . . . and then promptly gave up when it got gross (you know, cleaning up their own messes from under the couch!). I made them do a good portion of it, but then I finished the rest and hurt myself even more. We got the tree up, but not decorated. It sat that way for a couple days until Justin hauled all the totes of ornaments in for us.

Stella really did a number on the branches last year, so the tree is looking a little worse for the wear. I want to buy a new one after Christmas this year, but is it pointless?

3. We finally got to meet Baby Whit this week!

Look at that precious face!

Levi did not want to hold him. He says when babies are first born they're too red and weird looking. Lol. He'll love Whit in a few more months.

4. We spent Thanksgiving with my family this year. As per usual, I was only trusted to make the rolls. Everyone else made delicious food, and we had a great day spending time together.

I made 3 dozen . . . and we ate them all!

5. On Friday we went to see Moana 2 with some cousins. My kids liked it. I didn't really understand the whole premise. But I enjoyed the music!
Ugh. Levi really needs a haircut. Another thing I should've done this week but never got around to!

Afterward, we finally decorated the tree. Snow was falling in huge flakes all day, so it made for the perfect ambience. Alas, for the second year in a row Lucy couldn't be bothered to join us.

6. I got nothing else. Enjoy these last few pics and memes:

My week in a nutshell.

I've probably shared this before, but I'm currently raging about insurance again. It cost me over $130 to have the doctor diagnose me with a cough last week. And I have to choose another marketplace insurance plan before December 15. It's so overwhelming and depressing that I just keep putting it off.
