1. Lena started Middle School soccer at school this week. She's the tiniest one on the team and I'm somewhat terrified she's going to get snapped like a twig. She had her sports physical on Wednesday and weighed in at a whopping 62 pounds! But she's loving the game, and I'm looking forward to watching her play . . . even if I'm dreading the amount of travel required for the games. It's going to be brutal. A lot of the games are an hour away, and I hate being in the car that long. Not to mention, most of her games are at 4:30, so I'm going to have to drive her myself instead of relying on Justin to be the navigator since he actually has to work and make money and everything. Plus, we're idiots who also signed Levi up to play rec soccer. Now that he's U10, they also travel for games and I'm pretty sure he'll have two practices instead of one now (haven't gotten the schedule yet). The next couple of months are going to be bonkers.

2. I read another non-fiction book this week. It was actually something I read for my Development job at school and it was not real entertaining. Haha. But that brings me to 11 nonfiction books for my challenge. I need to get crack-a-lackin' to reach my goal!
3. Speaking of my Development job . . . I got promoted last week from Development Assistant to Development Director. 😬😬😬 I have been saying for a year that I will never take the position of director. I wanted nothing to do with dealing with donors and being in charge of fundraisers. But when it came down to it . . . I couldn't say no. Haha. Truthfully, having been a part of the Development Team for the past 8 months has shown me that it's not as scary as I expected, and I do think I can handle it. As an alumnus, I'm well positioned to promote the school. And everything else I can learn. But I still don't feel like I'm adult enough for the responsibility. You know what my biggest hang up is? I can't do my hair or make-up. I feel like that's what separates the adults from the wannabes. I look like a chunky, tired teenager, not a put-together adult.
Don't worry. I'm pretty sure I'll magically start to feel like a bona-fide adult when I turn 40 in October, so it'll be fine.
4. I hosted my second week of Storytime in the church library. Last week I had 8 kids show up. This week I had . . . . . 19!! Ha! It was packed! But we had fun, and everyone was very gracious and encouraging.
5. The kids had their last basketball games today. Levi is relieved to be done, but Lena is going to miss it. She had never played before this season, and grew to love it. She gained so much confidence and learned to be aggressive and tenacious despite her size. Unfortunately, her team did not win a single game all season. Lol. They're the smallest team in the league, and most of the players were beginners. Today was a tournament. The loser of the first game had to play again immediately afterward in the second game. The game was one of the closest they had all year, but they still lost. There are only 6 girls on the team, so they don't get many breaks, and Lena was exhausted after the first game. But they rallied and kept the game close the whole time. Lena made a basket near the end (her third one of the year), and they ended up winning by 2 points!! She was sooo excited! She ran over to me and gave me a hug and it took everything in me not to cry! Lol. Look at that. I do have a heart after all.

6. Speaking of basketball, it's that time of the year when I pretend to care about college sports . . . March Madness! The brackets have been filled, the trash talking among my siblings, nieces, and nephews, has commenced, and all three of my own kids have joined in this year! I made sure to take a screen shot of my first place standing before Wisconsin and Gonzaga lost. 😂

Because I know Rieley will yell at me . . . there are more participants beneath her. She's not in last place. My phone just couldn't get it all in a screenshot. 😂 |

Sorry for the profanity, but Levi literally did this the last time I bought him underwear. I heard him from the bathroom say, "Whoa! These are ginormous!" Then a minute later . . . "Ooh, they fit really well!" |
