The Saturday 7

1. Soccer is life lately. This week, Justin had four games and Lena had three. Levi had two practices and a game. I had an event at school on Friday, plus I had to make 122 root beer floats for students on Thursday. Oh, and we had a garage sale this weekend. I'm just so tired. And gas is $5 a gallon, and most of Justin and Lena's soccer games are 30 minutes to an hour away.

You can't even imagine how excited he was when he took his jersey out of the package. Lol.

I actually got quite sunburned at that game.

And then a few days later, they played in the pouring rain. I watched from the van. Levi tried to get out and use my umbrella, but it was a wee bit windy.

2. Last weekend, Lucy went to Celebravo - which is basically Christian prom for teens of any age, and not associated with any one school. Lucy wears a lot of baggy jeans and oversized sweatshirts, so it's always so drastic to see her dressed up! I hate how grown up it makes her look!!

3. While we were at Lena's game in the pouring rain, a wind storm whipped by our house and knocked out the power for a few hours. We lit a bunch of candles when it started getting dark. The girls and I read by candlelight and Levi entertained himself for an hour playing with the fire/wax. Then we played Apples to Apples until the power came back on and we could turn our fans on and go to sleep. 😁 It was kind of fun, since it was just a couple hours.

4. I had a good reason to use this mean candle my cousin bought me during the power outage. 😂

And look at my book total for the year! The reason I didn't blog last week was because I stayed up way too late reading Wool by Hugh Howey. That's not a book I would usually pick up on my own, but I actually really like dystopian novels. I asked ChatGPT for a recommendation of adult (not YA) dystopian without zombies, and Wool was one of the most highly rated ones he recommended. I liked it! But I don't think I'll read the sequels.

5. I'm seriously so tired, I can't think up two more points. But I have a bunch of memes that I've been saving up for a while, so enjoy these instead . . .
