The Saturday 7

1. It's that time of year where I have to write everything  down because my brain is filled to capacity. As the school year winds down, my calendar fills up. Arise (our Wednesday night church ministry) is almost done for the year, so I have a lot of "end of year" events to work on. At the same time, we're ramping up our planning for this summer's Soccer Camp, so I'm starting to have more meetings for that and more subsequent responsibilities to fulfill my role on the team. Then of course there are my kids' end of year school projects. Lena needs a certain book from the library, Levi needs supplies for a diorama, Lucy needs a formal dress for Celebravo. There are end-of-year field trips to attend. Spring soccer just started, so Levi has practices and games to keep track of. I have to get a birthday present for Thea, think about Lucy's birthday in May, remember to pick Lena up from Girls on the Run practices, do my reading for my Thursday night Bible stu...

1. We didn't have school on Monday, but we didn't take a road trip for the eclipse, choosing instead to enjoy the 94% coverage we got here. We couldn't have asked for better weather. I don't think there was a cloud in the sky most of the day. But 94% coverage was a bit anti-climactic. Haha. We had glasses from the library so we were able to look at it, but the kids were expecting it to get much darker and more dramatic. Haha. Maybe in 20 years I'll take my grandkids on a road trip to the totality zone. I made Lucy come outside for a while to be a part of history. She was unimpressed with the eclipse, but enjoyed playing with Lainey. Don't worry. I made sure Lainey enjoyed the historic moment as well. She was thrilled, as you can see. Redneck baby shade Safety first!  She slept through most of the eclipse, but I greatly enjoyed the snuggles. Honestly I was kind of glad when it was over. 2.
