The Saturday 7

1. I did something spontaneous this week and got a perm! Haha. I've been so annoyed with my hair and wishing I was more adept at curling it. But I don't want to put the time into actually doing it. So I decided to just stuff my worries and get my hair permanently curled. I had a perm in high school and loved it, but was worried about looking like I came straight out of the 80s. So I requested a "wave" perm. And I'm very happy with the results!
Channeling my inner teenager with the peace sign. (They probably don't call it that.)

2. I read four books this week. Most of them were pretty average, but they all kept me up way too late. I am entirely incapable of spreading a book out over more than one day. I have to read it all in one sitting. My favorite of the four was An Aria for Nick by Hallee Bridgeman. I started it at 9:30 pm, thinking I'd just read a few chapters before bed (Seriously - do I not know myself better than that by now?) I finished it at 2:00 am. Oops . . . But it was really good. I loved it. I also read the last two in the Song of Suspense series by Hallee Bridgeman (A Carol for Kent and A Harmony for Steve). Neither of them was that great. And I have serious issues with her name choices. Then last night I read An Uncommon Courtship by Kristi Ann Hunter. It was fine, but nothing special.

3. Levi officially turned one this week. To the girls' chagrin, we didn't do anything big to celebrate. We got a $5 pizza from the local pizza place and had donuts for dessert. That's about the extent of the festivities.

Timehop has since been tormenting me with newborn pictures and making my ovaries hurt.
I forgot to take off the automatic frame Timehop put on the pic. I have no idea what is "Making History" Sundays on Fox. Lol.
4. Good news, guys. Despite my procrastination, I got my kids enrolled for school in the fall. Kids, plural. Lena is officially signed up for preschool 2 days a week. (They're full days.) She does not want to go, so I have 6 months to convince her. Haha. I can't imagine life with only one kid at home, though. What am I going to do with all my free time?

5. Now that Levi is pretty consistently sleeping through the night, I think it's time to move him out of our bedroom and into his own room. But I'm having a really hard time pulling the trigger. For one thing, that means the girls are going to have to share a room. They're already terrible at bedtime, so I am dreading bedtime with both of them in the same room. But I'm also unreasonably sad about Levi moving upstairs away from me. Logically, I know it will be so nice to turn on lights when I want to, to not have to tiptoe around the bedroom, to be able to watch TV with Justin in our room. But emotionally, I feel like we're abandoning him all the way upstairs! #sapalert

6. Well that's all I've got. Here's a few pictures that didn't make it on facebook this week:
Perm in process. It doesn't smell any better than it did when I got my last perm 17 years ago. You'd think they could figure that out!
Benjamin Button?
Happy boy in the bath.
