The Saturday 7

1. Last day of February!! Woohoo! Our week started on a sour note as Justin's wallet got stolen out of his car in our driveway sometime Sunday night. Fortunately, he doesn't carry cash. Unfortunately, he had $75 worth of Bass Pro gift cards that are long gone now. 😢 I spent a good portion of Monday afternoon calling our various credit/debit companies to have our cards cancelled and replaced. The perpetrators didn't attempt to use them, so at least there's that! And later on in the week Justin got a call from the mechanic we use right down the street from us that they found his HSA card in their parking lot. Stinkin' punk kids. 2. This week I read a very random (for me) book. One of my facebook friends highly recommended it, and it fell under that "narrative non-fiction" genre that I'm trying to get into. The book was Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City  by Matthew Desmond. It was written a while ago, so you've all probably heard of

1. Good news, guys. We've made it through 3/4 of February!! The worst month of the year is almost over. And, actually, as Februarys go, this one has been better than most. We haven't been blasted with bitterly cold temperatures, or dumped on with inches of snow, or even experienced weeks without seeing the sun. Every morning as I drive the girls to school, I praise Jesus when the sun is shining. And we've had lots of sunny days recently! This February has also continued to be crazy-busy, and next week is shaping up to be just as insane, so what's left of the month should fly by! 2. And of course, Levi's first "real" birthday is a week from today. He's the victim of "third child syndrome" and I haven't bought him a single gift yet. Oops! He also has the unfortunate position of last in our string of birthdays/holidays from December to February. I've spent so much money in the past few months on Christmas, Lena's birthday, Justin&#

The Long Awaited "Saturday" 7

Sorry about the delay. I was caught up in my genealogy research last night and didn't feel like blogging. Deal with it.  1. We survived our busy week thanks to flexible and accommodating babysitters, and even had a snow day on Monday! We were one of only two schools in our area that closed, and the roads really weren't that bad, but we weren't complaining! We spent the day playing games, watching TV, and making Valentine's Day "mailboxes" which led into taking all of our food out of boxes and using said boxes to make an elaborate Barbie house/garage. 2. On Tuesday I went on a field trip with Lena to the museum/planetarium show. The museum staff lost our lunches, so there was a bit of a kerfuffle. Finally, one of the moms went outside where we had left them on a cart with the promise that they'd be brought in. They were still there, on the ground, sans cart . . . very mysterious . . .
