The Saturday 7

1. One week, people! One week! This is not a drill! I told my mom today that I don't know how people with jobs can move. It has become my full time job for the past two weeks. Between that and homeschooling, I can't get anything else done. At the beginning of the school year, when I was planning our year, I intentionally took off the last week of February, just because I know February burnout is a real thing. Lo and behold, the last week of February is moving week! Thank you, Jesus! So we'll be playing the game of "Can I live without this for a week?" as I continue to pack up the last six years of our lives. Also, word of warning: there will not be a Saturday 7 next week. Contain your disappointment. 2. On Sunday, my friend Kelly gave me a book she recently read and loved. Affiliate Link It was very short, so I read it all that afternoon. But it was really good. Kelly has gotten me on a Rachel Jankovic kick lately. I've been sporadically listening to

1. Two weeks, people! This is getting serious! We are moving in two weeks! Anyone else hear this in their head every time they hear the phrase "freaking out"? #pbs I spent five hours cleaning, purging, and packing today, then we hauled it all to the new house. But I still feel like I've hardly made a dent. How do we have SO MUCH STUFF?! I think I packed 6 boxes of "craft supplies" today - that includes stuff we need for school, but seriously! Not to mention the books . . . Honestly, I think two weeks will be sufficient to finish packing. It just feels like it's happening so fast all of a sudden. 2. We had more abysmal weather this week. The good news is I'm saving on gas because I never leave my house. 🤷 The even better news is we're over halfway through February! My mantra every year is "I just have to make it through February." March will at least bring a few 50 degree days here and there. This was our backyard after another da

1. If last week's storm wasn't bad enough, we got hammered with another one this week - this time in the form of ice. We had such a nice November and December with so little snow. I guess we're paying for it now. Apparently there's no end in sight, and another ice storm is expected Tuesday night! Those poor public school kids are going to be making up days into July if this keeps up! (And we're doing VBS the third week of June this year, so we need them to be done with school by then!) Life wasn't much different for us. We still did school. We were just trapped at home for another week. Either my Zoloft is really pulling its weight, or God is pouring out some major grace because I've handled the "cabin fever" without spiraling into depression. Thank you, Jesus! We were also very fortunate that we never lost power. My sister's power went out Thursday morning and still isn't back on! Pure ice Pretty trees. Can you see the icicles hang

1. We survived the Polar Vortex of 2019! In case you're not from around here and missed all the hubbub - we had a solid week of temperatures hovering around zero, with wind chills as low as -45, plus 18ish inches of snow. Because we live in a field, the wind is insane and whips the snow into crazy drifts. Everything around us closed - no one had school all week - even businesses were closing left and right! Justin ended up taking 3 days off because working outside in -45 is neither pleasant nor smart. The two days he did work, the windchill was only around 20 below. 😨 And then today, it was in the 30s! I've never been so happy to see 30 degrees! 2. Because I'm a mean mom and because we slacked off for the past two weeks, I made the girls do school 4 days this week. Everyone on facebook was posting about their kids driving them crazy after 6 snow days. My kids are always home, so I'm used to that, but being cooped up inside, unable to go anywhere was
