1. Justin and I had a glorious weekend away. I drank so much Dr Pepper I'm pretty sure I gained my 5 pounds back. (I didn't weigh myself because I don't really want to know . . .) I watched a lot of HGTV, he did a lot of shopping at Bass Pro, we wandered the mall together, ate good food, and saw The Greatest Showman  (loved it!). It was a much needed break from the sickness dominating this house. 2. Unfortunately, while we were gone, Levi got sicker and sicker. He and I both had a cold, but he spiked a fever Saturday night and was miserable all day on Sunday. My mom could tell his ears were bothering him, so I figured his cold had just made its way to his ears and he needed some antibiotics. (He always gets a fever with his ear infections.) We came home earlier than planned on Sunday night so I could run him to Urgent Care before it closed, but he was sound asleep on my mom when we got home, so I decided to risk it and hope he'd sleep. He actually slept pretty well an...

1. What a week. So much sickness and crying and medicine and cleaning. Lena woke up fever free on Sunday, but it came back by Tuesday morning. She missed school on Tuesday. She was supposed to have a field trip on Wednesday, but she woke up with a fever again, so she missed that too. She finally went to school on Thursday despite a hacking cough and snotty nose. Yesterday was the first time I felt like she was finally starting to act more like herself without being medicated to the gills. Unfortunately, Levi and I both ended up with colds this week. Thankfully, it didn't turn into the full blown flu like Lena had, but Levi is pretty miserable with his cold. His nose is a faucet and he coughs so much that he can't sleep. He hardly napped at all this week and has been up a lot in the night. Last night, he coughed so hard that he puked. I'm really hoping it's just because of the cough and not an added layer to this infernal sickness!! 2. Tuesday was Lena's 5th birthd...

1. I feel like Levi has had a word explosion in the past few weeks. He's finally identifying Justin and me as Dada and Mama. He's picked up the word "more" (mo!), and has his own word for car. It sounds a lot like "yum," but I think it's supposed to be vroom or zoom. He also says "oh" when I answer his "questions." Like he'll cock his head to the side and say, "Dada?" When I tell him Daddy's at work, he responds, "Oh." Haha. It's adorable. 2. I've been majorly struggling with laziness lately. It's so much worse in the winter because I feel like I can't get out from under my warm blanket to do anything. And winter in general makes me kind of lethargic and depressed. I feel like there's an onslaught of books and articles and podcasts lately about slowing down and being present and not being a slave to your to-do list. But those are not helpful for me. I need some articles telling me to g...

1. Lucy puked a few times Sunday night and got out of going to school on Monday. It's inevitable that Lucy will have the flu around Christmas. I think she has every year since she was a year old. But at least she got it out of her system quickly and before her class party and the other various Christmas events we have going on. She actually felt fine on Monday, so she and Lena played together all day and we made some fun ornaments. 2. Tuesday was the girls' school parties. It was the first year I had to bounce back and forth between them since their parties were on the same day at the same time. I feel like it was kind of a fail. Every time I'd switch to another class they'd be in transition between activities so I missed a lot. Oops. Levi loved tagging along Bean bag toss - she got all 3 in a can. She definitely didn't get her hand/eye coordination from me. He found some cars. Pin the nose on the snowman Lucy is in a "no pictures...
