The Saturday 7

1. I had my follow-up hearing test this week. It's been over a year since my last one, and they just want to keep checking annually to make sure my hearing isn't declining at an alarming rate. Good news: I can hear just as well (or as badly) as last year! Still mild to moderate hearing loss that doesn't completely necessitate hearing aids, although I'd certainly benefit from them. More good news: there was no one named Katie in the waiting room.  In case you're confused, that's a reference to what happened last year at my hearing test . . . 2. Justin had his final hurrah with his soccer team this week - a 3 day tournament in Ohio. The strange thing is that it was from Wednesday to Friday - for high school kids! Shouldn't they be in school?? Not to mention all the coaches and parents who had to take off of work! Thankfully Justin's job is flexible, and he was able to get the time off. And we survived in his absence for a few days. I can tell that I've

1. I made up for a pathetic birthday this week. Not dieting is the best. McDonald's on Monday, Little Caesar's on Wednesday, Grant Depot and Red Robin on Friday, Starbucks and Cracker Barrel today. 😁🐷 I do think Keto messed me up a little, though. I can't eat as much as I used to be able to. And I will admit that really sugary stuff doesn't appeal to me as much as it once did. 😲 I'm sure that will all change once I reacquaint my body with junk food again. I'm pretty sure I've already gained my 8 pounds back, but I'm not stepping on a scale to find out. Lol. 2. Dieting also messed with my mind a little bit. I've noticed this week that I've been way more self-conscious about my appearance than usual. I'm overwhelmed by my inability to do my hair and/or make-up, I feel like my clothes are all frumpy, and my face is gross. I hate that I dieted for 4 weeks, squeezed myself into spanx and control-top tights, shopped for hours for a dress, spent

Whew! What a week. Gonna try and make this snappy . . . 1. Sunday was my birthday. It was the most anticlimactic birthday ever. I still wasn't feeling good, so we stayed home from church. I decided to break my diet for my absolute favorite donut: the twist from Hilltop Bakery. We slept in and took our time getting out there, so it was noon by the time we arrived. And then this happened: I was surprised there was such a long line when we walked in, and then the lady in front of me ordered every last twist donut that was left. I really wanted to say, "Wait! Today is my birthday, and I've been dieting for three weeks, and the thought of this donut has been getting me through. Can you please just let me have one??" But of course I didn't. (#noconfrontation) I told Justin it was probably a sign that I shouldn't cheat on my diet, but I ordered a different one anyway. And it was delicious. 2. After that donut, I didn't eat much this week. The thought of eating an
