The Saturday 7

1. The girls had their first gymnastics classes on Monday. They had been eagerly (and impatiently) awaiting them, so we were all excited for them to get started. Waiting for class to start When it was time for them to get started, they had opposite reactions. Lucy ran right out there and joined her class. Lena clung to me crying that her belly hurt. The poor kid wants to do stuff so badly, but when it comes down to it, the anxiety overwhelms her. I gave her a Tums and pushed her out on the floor. She sat with her class crying for about 30 seconds until they started stretching. Then she was fine the rest of the time. I am a terrible photographer and did not get many pictures. Lucy's class started on the floor, doing a series of exercises that Lucy can't do without help (handstand, bridge, etc.), so she kind of stood around aimlessly unless the teacher was there to help her. I could see her confidence slipping and could tell she wasn't enjoying it. But then they sw...

What a week. 1. The girls started school this week. Lucy started on Monday. She's been so excited and counting down the days. I love her small school where she knows everyone. She has the same class every year so there's no anxiety about making friends or who to play with at recess. 2nd Grade. Where has the time gone? 2. Lena only has school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so her first day was Tuesday. I was a little worried about how she'd do at drop off. She was excited but nervous leading up to the first day, and I wasn't sure if the anxiety would overtake her when it came down to me leaving her there. But she did great! She marched right in, sat down at her desk, and got to work. I remember leaving Lucy on her first day of Kindergarten with a pit in my stomach. But I didn't feel that way with Lena. I knew she'd be fine. Second kid? Haha.  Walking in to school Walking out of school together.  3. I asked Lena if she made any friend...

1. Someone remind me why I wanted Levi to walk. He is so exhausting. Lol. Did I feel this way with my girls? I feel like I can't keep up with the kid. Maybe I'm just getting old, but he is into everything. I can't take my eye off him for a minute or he's pulling cups off counters or throwing shoes in the trash or pulling things out of the trash or throwing things in the toilet or bathtub (we're learning quickly to keep the toilet lid closed!). I love this age because he's starting to show so much personality and learning so much every day, but I forgot how tiring it is.  2. On Tuesday, we had a very busy day. The girls have been begging to go school supply shopping, so I finally printed out their lists and headed down to Alpine. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that Lena is going to school. When I first looked up the lists, I went straight to the 2nd Grade page for Lucy. I didn't even think about the Preschool list until later. Haha. The g...

1. Good news, guys. We finally transitioned Levi out of the pack n' play in our room to his crib upstairs. We tried for the first time last Saturday, and it was an epic fail. He screamed forever and we finally caved and brought him back downstairs. Sunday night we went to a "concert" at church and kept him up way past his bedtime, so he fell right to sleep when I laid him in the crib that night. But after going up the stairs 3 times between 11:40 and midnight to replace his binky, I finally brought him back downstairs. Monday night he slept all night in his crib for the first time! And he's continued to do well since then. I usually have to go up once or twice to help him find his Binky (I need a bumper for the crib so he can't push them out onto the floor!), and I think I'm going to need to get some blackout curtains, because he's been waking up ridiculously early, but for the most part, he's doing great! 2. He's also making progress with his...
