The "Saturday" 7

1. I've been bemoaning my lack of time to read lately. I didn't expect homeschooling to take up as much of my time as it does. Even though it only takes us a few hours each morning, I'm coming to realize those were the hours I usually spent on housework or errands. So now I have to cram that in after lunch. And our kids go to bed so late that I usually don't even come back downstairs until after 9. I can't start a book that late because then I'll stay up all night to finish it. Case in point: yesterday. I have a huge stack of books that I got from the library weeks ago which are rapidly approaching their due dates. I decided it was Saturday night and I could afford to stay up a little bit late. But of course I picked a very suspenseful murder mystery and had to read straight through to the end. I didn't get to bed until 2:00 a.m. Oops. (Hence the lack of a Saturday 7) But I read a book! So now I'm only 15 behind to reach my Goodreads goal. Lol. 2. It w

I never did my "day in the life" post this spring that I've done for the past 5 years. But I really appreciate continuity, and I know I'll want to look back on this someday, so here's the late-in-the-year edition that now includes homeschooling! 7:12 Levi starts crying as Justin's alarm goes off. Tells me he's going to go to work with Daddy when he grows up. 7:18 Levi's buns hurt and he needs some medicine. We get up and I pretend to put Desitin on his buns. (Placebo effect FTW!) 7:20 Back in bed. Levi arranges my pillows to his liking then lays down by me. 7:26 Levi wants the light on. I don't want to get out of bed to turn it on, so I turn on the TV instead. He cries that it's too bright. 7:30 Levi doesn't want to watch Cat in the Hat, so I change it to Word Girl. 7:31 I roll to my side faci

The Saturday 7

1. I has been kind of a rough week. During birthday week no less! My depression was out of control. I hate it when it gets bad like that because I start to panic that there's no hope for me. I'm already on pretty high dosage of antidepressants. What am I supposed to do when they stop working?? It was worse than usual, though, because I actually cried this week! Multiple times! I thought I was too medicated to cry, but this week proved me wrong. Oy. I hate crying. 2. The week didn't start out bad. We had some crazy warm October weather that we tried to enjoy while it lasted. He loves that mower. I'm going to miss this view. And Monday night my sister came to Bible Study with Baby Nash. I've been accused of being a baby hog, but really, can you blame me?? 3. Wednesday was my 33rd birthday. Levi was apparently excited, because he woke up at 5 am. Fortunately, he went back to sleep in my bed, and I woke up to this: The girls and I made [cann
