The Saturday 6

1. It was a big week in our family. My sister's long-awaited pool is finally swimmable!! The weather hasn't been insanely warm, but the pool is heated, and my kids will swim no matter what! They were so excited! It is SUCH a nice pool and we're soooo thankful Niki and her husband are willing to let us swim in it anytime. You'll see many more pics from the pool this year! One of the coolest parts of the pool is the "tanning ledge." It's a 6 ft. section that's only 6 inches deep. It's a big hit with the kids!! Lucy's jumping off of the tanning ledge into the deep end in this pic. 2. I'm hoping that walking to the pool (about half a mile), and swimming for hours every day will be good for all of us. I've recently started keeping a food diary for Lucy, and it is so  depressing. I seriously feel like a major failure when I realize how far I've let this "picky eating" thing go. But I have no idea how to fix it now.

1. We had a crazy day of celebration on Sunday. We celebrated Mother's Day, Lucy's birthday, my brother Luke's birthday (the 13th), the dedication of my niece and nephew (like baby baptism, but without the baptism part - lol), and another other nephew and niece-in-law moving to Indiana for nursing school! It was a great day of food, laughter, and a card game that I actually won for once! For Mother's Day, Justin and the kids brought me breakfast in bed (donuts - the best kind of breakfast), and sweet gifts like this one: 2. Lucy asked for clothes for her birthday and my mom delivered. Oy vey. Of course, there had to be a fashion show the next day. And Lena is loathe to be left out. You'll notice so much about my kids' personalities in the following pictures . . . Lol. Oh Lena . . . 3. Levi's new favorite thing is spraying the hose into a dirt patch by our deck and driving his cars through it. It's somewhat anxiety induci

1. We did it! We finished school for the year! We started in the middle of August, didn't take a million snow days, and don't have to comply with the state's "180" days or whatever it is. (Yay for Michigan's non-existent homeschool laws!) But we made it through all 34 weeks of our curriculum, and packed in a whole bunch of knowledge. As you all know quite well by now, it was not always smooth sailing. Actually, it was probably more stormy than smooth as a rule, but we powered through and stuck with what we felt was best for our kids. And I know I'll never regret these days spent with my kids - even if they drive me crazy 85% of the time, homeschooling with a toddler is madness, and I regularly questioned my sanity. 🤣 It's years I'll never get back with them (as all the sappy, sentimental Mother's Day stuff is reminding me this weekend), and I'm glad to have had them. That is a tattoo on Lena's leg, not a bruise. Haha 2. I fi
