The Saturday 7

1. This was a big week for Levi. I should save all this for his one year update, but I like to write things down when they actually happen (because - baby book? Ain't nobody got time for that!). The biggest news is that he's finally become mobile!! After 11.5 months of just sitting where I put him, he has figured out how to move! Of course his method is a bit unconventional. Haha. He doesn't crawl or even army crawl, he scoots on his butt. Sometimes he uses his hands to pull himself forward, but most of the time he just wiggles his upper body enough to propel himself forward. Lol. I've taken like 1,000 videos because it cracks me up so much. 2. Levi also sprouted his 4th tooth this week (top right) and has started sleeping through the night!! Kind of. Haha. I nurse him when I put him to bed between 7 and 8. He usually gets up between 10 and midnight to nurse one more time, but then he sleeps until 6:30 ish! Now to cut out that extra feeding in the middle of the night ...

Levi: 9 Months

Image
I'm pretty sure I get later and later with these entries every month. Haha. Here's what the cutie patootie is up to this month: Those constantly kicking legs . . . And one with the bear . . . and horrible lighting . . . He's been doing all kinds of fun new things lately. He loves to point: He also loves to stick his finger in the holes in his binky - while it's in his mouth. Haha.  He blows raspberries (and drools all over himself), claps his hands, claps his feet, plays peek-a-boo, and is still really trying to figure out the wave. He also plays the "night night" game: he lays his head down and we say, "Nigh night." Then he lifts his head up really quickly and grins as we say, "Wake up!" He still kicks everything. It's a quirk he's had pretty much as long as he's been alive. Every time I hand him something, he puts it down to his feet and kicks it away. Even if it's a sweet little chick . . . I...

1. Last week, immediately after posting my entry about discovering Levi's first tooth, I discovered his second! Haha. Bottom right. (He's sleeping right now. We'll see if he wakes up with a third after I finish this entry. That seems to be the pattern.) As I've posted before, the girls were much older when they got teeth. I stopped nursing each of them at one year, so teeth were never a problem. Let me tell you . . . they're a problem with Levi. I don't know what to do about the biting. I tap his cheek and pull him off, saying "no" sternly. But he seriously laughs at me. Ouch. I'm not sure I'll make it to a year with him if this keeps up. Although he still won't take a bottle or cup of any kind, so I might not have much of a choice . . . 2. We got our Christmas tree on Sunday. As we've done the past few years, we joined my sisters at the tree farm, went on a wagon ride and chopped down our tree. It was a beautiful day, the girl...

The Saturday 7

1. Last Saturday, after writing my Saturday 7, I sat down to play with Levi. For some reason I stuck my finger in his mouth and suddenly felt something sharp. I immediately pried his mouth open to peer at his gums, and sure enough, there's a tooth poking through! Bottom middle. I was shocked! The girls didn't get teeth until the week before their first birthdays. I've never thought he's teething, never imagined he'd get a tooth so [comparatively] early! Can you see it? Lol. It's there, I promise! It's totally visible in person. I just can't capture a picture of it. He's the most compliant tooth-shower-offer I've ever known, though. He loves opening his mouth and letting me take pics. Haha. 2. Lucy only had two days of school this week. On Wednesday, Justin took the girls on a "Daddy-Daughter Date" so that I could hardcore purge their bedrooms. Lena is a pack rat to the nth degree and Lucy insists on saving every piece of paper she...

1. Good news, everyone! Levi slept so much better at night this week! I'm wising up and have learned just to scoop him out of bed, feed him, attempt a couple quick burps, then toss him back in bed. No unswaddling. No diaper changing. No giving him time to wake up. It seems to be working. 2. More good news: we got free newborn pictures taken! I have a photographer friend who messaged me this week offering to take free pictures in exchange for more "boy newborns" for her portfolio. I wasn't about to pass that up! I think newborn photos are so adorable, but have never been able to justify the price. Levi is actually a  little  old for newborn photos. He was awake a little too often, but Amy did an amazing job of calming him down and getting him to sleep. And she got some awesome shots! He loved this nest thing. I need to get one for at home! Old man forehead wrinkles! She captured the dimples! The grin!! Thank you so much, Amy! Check out h...
