The Saturday 7

1. Quick camping recap: It was pretty much what I expected. We all "slept" in the tent on the first night. Levi woke up after a couple hours crying inconsolably and ended up on the air mattress with Justin and me for the rest of the night. Lucy woke up crying inconsolably for no apparent reason. And I was freezing. The second night, Levi and I went to a family member's house down the road and slept in their basement. It was so  much better. During the day, Levi just wanted to run. We had a group site, and everyone helped watch out for him, but I felt like I couldn't take my eyes off him. It rained for about an hour one evening, but our tent stayed nice and dry. Overall, it was a great time. I'll never enjoy cooking outside or trekking to the bathroom or trying to keep my kids away from the fire, but I love spending time with family, swimming in the heated pool, and watching my kids enjoy everything. 2. Levi had his 18 month check-up this week. He weighs ...

1. Lena and Levi had doctor appointments on Monday. Lena weighed in at 30 lbs and measured 39 inches. Levi was 20 lbs and 29 inches. Both tiny but growing on their own curve. Levi got one shot and didn't even cry! Lena had to get 3 shots and didn't cry either! My kids do not get their pain tolerance from me! Haha. He went back to taking two naps a day, and has been clingy and whiny. Poor kid. 2. We had our appointment with Early On on Thursday. I was a little disappointed. The lady was fixated on getting Levi to crawl. I tried to tell her that he's so close to walking I think he's just going to skip crawling. But she insisted that crawling is an important developmental milestone and necessary for brain development. She was also really interested in his verbal development, whic...

Levi: 9 Months

Image
I'm pretty sure I get later and later with these entries every month. Haha. Here's what the cutie patootie is up to this month: Those constantly kicking legs . . . And one with the bear . . . and horrible lighting . . . He's been doing all kinds of fun new things lately. He loves to point: He also loves to stick his finger in the holes in his binky - while it's in his mouth. Haha.  He blows raspberries (and drools all over himself), claps his hands, claps his feet, plays peek-a-boo, and is still really trying to figure out the wave. He also plays the "night night" game: he lays his head down and we say, "Nigh night." Then he lifts his head up really quickly and grins as we say, "Wake up!" He still kicks everything. It's a quirk he's had pretty much as long as he's been alive. Every time I hand him something, he puts it down to his feet and kicks it away. Even if it's a sweet little chick . . . I...
