The Saturday 7

Image
It's been a crazy few days, and tomorrow is going to be more chaos! I'll try to crank this out before Saturday is over . . . 1. So this happened: I am seriously flabbergasted. I do not understand who is voting for this buffoon. I cannot fathom someday referring to him as President Trump. What is going on in this country?!?!  And then this started appearing all over facebook: So does that mean I'm not supposed to vote at all? Oy. Politics. 2. On a much less controversial note . . . we had a couple fun events with Lucy's school this week. On Thursday, we went to the zoo. I know one way to get to the zoo and there was major construction, so I had to try a different route. I'm always so proud of myself when I successfully navigate downtown by myself. Haha. (I did get a little lost on the way home, but I figured it out!) I left Levi with Niki because I was worried it'd be too cold for him, but it ended being the perfect weather for the zoo. I was glad ...

A Day in the Life of a Stay at Home Mom

Image
Here it is again! An annual minute-by-minute record of my day. I try to do it each year around this time, and it's so interesting to see how things change from year to year. As always, I'm completely honest about how much TV we watch, how much time I spend on facebook, and how terribly we eat. Haha. I think this is a fairly accurate representation of how most of our days go. Levi's schedule was a little off. He usually takes his long nap after lunch, and so do I. This day I didn't get a nap. I also think I watched more TV today than I usually do. I'm on an Office binge. It was good for me to see this all written out, though. I feel like I get nothing done all day. But this shows that not only did I get some stuff done (dishes, laundry, dinner, pick-up), I have a good excuse for not getting more done. You will notice that Levi is not the easiest baby. Haha. To see past years, check them out here: 2013 , 2014 , 2015 Monday, May 2, 2016 6:11 Levi starts fussing,...

The Belated Saturday 7

Image
I seem to have forgotten about the Saturday 7 this week. Oops! I sat down to write it a couple of times, but it's really hard to type while holding a baby . . . and that's pretty much all I do. I'll see if I can come up with a few things now while he's in bed. 1. My nephew is doing great after brain surgery. He came home on Wednesday with a PICC line in his arm for six weeks of IV antibiotics. He also came home with a blood clot from the PICC line, so has to have twice daily injections of a blood thinner in his stomach. So his ordeal isn't over yet, but the hole in his head is healing nicely and he's happy to get back to his life. Thanks for your prayers! 2. One day this week my mom came home with 3 gift bags brimming with gifts for my kids. She had been to lunch with her cousin Krindi - who was a second mother to me growing up. Krindi made Levi a beautiful blanket, and showered my girls with feather boas and craft kits, too! They were so  excited. And I lov...

Lena's "3 Year" Interview

I was just reading some old blog entries and came across the birthday interview I did with Lucy, which reminded me that I never did one with Lena for her 3rd birthday. So here it is . . . just 3 months late. Haha. I didn't coach her for any of these answers, and wrote down exactly what she said - even if they didn't make much sense. Haha. What do you and Mommy do together? Go to the grocery store, go to some eating places What do you and Daddy do together? Wash the car What makes you happy? My stuff that I sleep with What is something scary? Thunder and rain and wind What are you really good at? Getting groceries Who is your best friend? Presley and Harper, Persephone and Quinn Who’s the prettiest person you know? Rieley What do you want to be when you grow up? A stager or a teacher of a class at church What do you think about before you fall asleep? My Ellies Favorites: Color  Purple, pink, orange and red and green Book Pinkalicious Movie Dora and Hannah Montana...
