The Saturday 7

1. My parents watched the girls last night while Justin and I went out. Apparently they watched some of the Olympics. This is what Lucy took from it. "The American swimming girl won the race. And she had her nails painted red, white, and blue. But while she was swimming, one of her nails fell off!!!" Lol. Priorities. 2. The girls love watching gymnastics, too, but it's on ridiculously late! They got to stay up past their bedtime to watch a couple of the events, but once swimming came on, they had to go to bed. The event they saw both times was vault, so now they've been running through our living room, jumping on a chair, jumping down, and throwing their hands in the air. Lena throws in a somersault, but Lucy can't do somersaults, so she usually just jumps with flair. Haha. Oh the selfies I find on my phone from these two . . .  3. Levi has been having some strange sleep changes lately. He randomly slept through the night (9 hours) a couple times this week....

1. We finally sold my car this week - for $1200 less than I wanted for it. Ha. It's been on Craigslist/sitting in our front yard for over a month with very little interest. Once I significantly lowered the price, I finally got some bites. And when a couple came, test drove it, and made an offer, I practically said, "I don't even care! Just take it!" That car was nothing but trouble for us. Good-bye and good riddance!! 2. I gave up on my diet this week. I've been debating recently which I hate more: dieting or being fat. And I finally decided it's dieting. Haha. I lost 5 pounds (although I don't notice it at all in the way my clothes fit). Good enough. So what if I'm a little chubby? Life is too short to spend it counting calories. And until I start hating being fat more, I'm never going to stick to a diet. Yesterday, I had a donut for breakfast, McDonald's for lunch, pizza for dinner, and roughly 50 oz. of Dr Pepper throughout the day. And it...

Levi: 5 Months

Image
Our happy boy is 5 months old! I just re-read his 4 month entry, and not much has changed. He's getting better at tummy time and holding his head up: "How YOU doin'?" He rolled from his belly to his back for the first time (other than those random times at the doctor's office) on Monday. He doesn't roll every time he's on his belly, but he's done it a few times now, so he's getting the hang of it. Sleep continues to regress. Naps are about the same: morning nap in the swing (an hour or so). Long nap after lunch swaddled in the rock n' play (3ish hours). Evening nap in the swing (another hour). But nighttime sleep hasn't been great. He fights it so hard, and it takes forever to get him to sleep. Then, he usually wakes up after about 45 minutes. Sometimes we can get him right back to sleep. Sometimes he stays awake for a while. And he's been getting up twice at night again! Usually around 1 and 4. For the past week, he...

The Saturday 7

Not sure I'm going to get to 7 this week. I spent all of last week planning a bridal shower, and all of this week planning for VBS. Not much else has been going on. 1. I'm co-leading the preschool room this year. In years past, I've done it myself, but I'm not sure how committed I can be this year with Levi. He'll go to nursery, but I'm going to have to leave to feed him, and probably put him to sleep. He's a tricksty little hobbit. So I have another adult leader that will be helping me. I'm planning and organizing almost everything, but she'll probably carry out most of it. Just how I like it. :-) Although it's a lot of work to get it all ready. I go through phases while planning: 1. I got this. No big deal. 2. Wait. It's in 5 days? Oh man, I better get to work. 3. What did I sign up for? I'm never going to get it all ready! Maybe I'll just throw some play doh on the table and call it good. 4. I wish my kids would leave me a...
