7 Quick Takes Saturday
Thank you for all the interest and comments on my prayer post. I got a few facebook messages, too. I'm hoping to write an entry soon about what I learned.
Now for the quick takes. (I had fun with the pictures since I'm using a fast internet connection.)
1. I felt bad after posting on facebook that I randomly lost 3 pounds this week. I don't want people to think I'm bragging. So here's a little consolation: my stomach is still a wrinkly, flabby, elephant-butt mess! You will not see me in a bikini this summer!

2. My blonde moment of the week: Our garage door has some major problems. It gets stuck while it's opening/closing, so we usually have to push the button a few times to get it to go all the way. One day this week, Lucy and I were headed to the grocery store. I pushed the button and it started to go up, but then got stuck. I put Lucy in the van, climbed in, and pushed the button in my van. When I looked in my rearview mirror, I could see outside, and I didn't see any of the garage door, so I zoomed backward. *Crash!* Lol. Apparently it hadn't gone up all the way and I smashed into it. Oops! Never fear. Justin fixed it when he got home, and it's not too damaged. Just a little dent. 0:-)
3. I read a book this week! I used to be such an avid reader, but I haven't read much in years. However, one of my favorite authors (Lynn Austin) came out with a new book recently, so I picked it up last time I was at the library with the kids. I read it all in 2 days and enjoyed it so much. I've missed reading. (The book was called While We're Far Apart in case you're interested.)
4. One day this week Lyla was playing with a toy lion. She was wearing footie pajamas and suddenly started unzipping them and saying, "Time to eat lion!" She put the lion up to her stomach and said, "Drink your milk." Haha. That was the first time I've seen her do that. (And she totally thinks Lucy drinks out of my stomach.) I used to nurse my dolls too. :-)

6. Lucy pulled up to her standing for the first time yesterday. We were at Niki's, and she has a really low couch, so Lucy could pull up. Of course, once she was up, she couldn't get down and just toppled over. Haha. (I don't have a picture of that one. Bad mom.)
7. We're in Traverse City this weekend with our awesome friends Paul and Missy. When I was at my parents' earlier this week my mom said, "Oh by the way, we're going up to Traverse City this weekend." Haha. I was like, "So are we!" We might go wine tasting with them later

I love the "no bikini" picture!:). I didn't think it was bragging at all; obviously it brought up thoughts for me about women in general and what sone of us are jealous of as opposed to others, but that's just a fascinating topic to me so thanks for getting my thoughts going in an additional way on the topic:)
ReplyDeleteB loves to nurse her babies and animals too though it's often more from her stomach:)
Thanks for the book recommendation too!
Have a great time in Traverse City:)

Oh and yay about the photoshoot!!! Those pictures were so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteHave I mentioned yet how much I love your blog background? Where did you find it? I've browsed through some on blogspot before to try to change mine up from boring black but haven't seen any this cheery:)
ReplyDeleteI actually thought of you when I was posting that picture of our new bed on my blog, because I thought the bedding looked like something you would like:)
And the king is awesome. Jay and I used to sit around joking and saying "Someday when we're rich and famous, ha ha, we'll have a king bed" because we've just always had the queen that was his from junior high on. So when our friends said "Who wants our king bed for free?" we were all over it:)
Thanks, Cara. I found the background through blogger somehow. I don't really remember. Haha. But it wasn't through another site.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny you thought of me with the bedding. It is definitely very me. :-)
jayfersgirl, if you go into your blogger dashboard and click design, then template designer (top left), then background, then the big rectangle picture, you can go through all the blogger backgrounds. There are lots of really cute ones! Sadie's is one of my favorites too :)
ReplyDeleteI am toootally wearing a bikini this summer... HA!
Lots of fun stuff! I was going to comment on every section but I was just going to agree with everything or whatever... so... never mind. :P
you're too funny girl. Seriously we need to get to know each other more b/c I had a blast with you girls last week. So happy you won the contest and I didn't realize it was for her one year...OH the possibilities :) now I'm getting excited!
