Whoops! I didn't post last week. We were out partying for 4th of July too late and I had to go to bed instead of writing my blog. #partyanimal
1. Summer continues to fly by. The fireworks tent fundraiser wrapped up without incident last week, and this week has been heavy on the soccer camp prep, since camp starts on Monday! I have roughly 450 to-do lists going at all times, but after soccer camp ends, I'll have like a two week window where I just get to enjoy summer, before I have to really get going on stuff for school. I'm going to get a tan and read all the books. Wish me luck. 😂
2. I had to help in the fireworks tent for one shift that no one else signed up for. Conveniently enough, the tent is within walking distance of Goodwill, so after my shift I decided to pop over and see if anything was calling my name. Imagine my surprise/thrill when I found four brand new Crunch Labs kits marked $3.99 each! In case you don't have kids that watch YouTube . . . Crunch Labs is a subscription service by Mark Rober that delivers kids' STEM kits once a month. Mark Rober is one of the few YouTubers I let Levi watch, because his stuff is actually educational, and Levi is really interested in engineering. Of course, every episode is peppered with ads for the Crunch Labs subscription and Levi is always begging for it, but each box is around $30! The best part about my Goodwill experience, was that it happened to be 30% off day! (If you're not signed up for their text deal alerts, do it now!) So I only paid $2.80 for each box!! And they kept Levi occupied for almost a whole day! 😂
3. We had a fun 4th of July weekend. On Thursday (the 3rd), we went to the Pump House. $40 later, we all got a bowl of fro-yo! 🤯
On the 4th itself we went to my Uncle Joel's to swim in his pool, hang out, and shoot off some little fireworks.

On Saturday, we went up to Luke and Esther's for dinner, cards, fishing, a boat ride, and more fireworks. I only took 4 pictures, and most of them are blurry. 🤦
4. We enjoyed another cousin-fun-day this week at Millennium Park.

We added a few honorary cousins to the mix |

After I took this picture, I told Lena she was burning and put sunscreen on her back. But it was too late. She got fried and was in pain for days afterward! Oops!

5. I actually did a good job with the sunscreen on myself and didn't burn for once! So the next day, when we went back to Uncle Joel's pool I figured I was tan enough to forgo the SPF. Not my brightest idea. 🤦 I got a little red, and it has been so itchy!

Sweet Aunt Karen, playing yard games with the kids. |
6. Sorry, but I don't really have anything else to report. The past two weeks have just been playing with a lot of cousins, working on a lot of Soccer Camp stuff, having meetings at school and church, and scratching my sunburn. Here are a few pics and memes to hold you over 'til next time . . .

My pile of to-do lists |

So many kids at the table for lunch that Brodie had to sit on the floor! 😂 |

Off season, but still funny because it's so true! |

So much cultural context! |
