The Saturday 7: Pandemic Edition! (And some other stuff.)

What an insane week. I'm going to go sequentially . . . 1. First of all, thank you so much to everyone who reached out after my last post. So many of you offered encouragement, prayer, resources, and commiseration. I have the best friends and it means the world to me! Lena struggled most days, but definitely improved as the week went on. (I can't imagine the damage this quarantine is going to do to the progress she's made! 🤦) 2. My nephew and niece-in-law decided to take advantage of a last minute coronovirus cruise deal, and I agreed to watch Nova a few days. Plus I had Ruby on Monday and Wednesday as usual, Levi had preschool testing on Tuesday, I helped out in the childcare for Bible Study on Thursday, and I had a VBS meeting in there. I finally wrote it all down so I wouldn't forget a kid somewhere. Haha. I actually only ended up watching Nova for half a day on Tuesday, but we had fun that day! It was kind of a rough week . . . but it had the potential to be worse! Haha. #optimism 1. Levi had puked at midnight the night before, and I didn't stay awake for the washer to finish, so I wanted to get it in the dryer before leaving for school. Apparently I did a bad job of removing the vomit debris, though, because when I opened my front-loading washer, there were tiny little hot dog pieces allll over in the washer - including that flexible front part that catches h...

1. Last day of February!! Woohoo! Our week started on a sour note as Justin's wallet got stolen out of his car in our driveway sometime Sunday night. Fortunately, he doesn't carry cash. Unfortunately, he had $75 worth of Bass Pro gift cards that are long gone now. 😢 I spent a good portion of Monday afternoon calling our various credit/debit companies to have our cards cancelled and replaced. The perpetrators didn't attempt to use them, so at least there's that! And later on in the week Justin got a call from the mechanic we use right down the street from us that they found his HSA card in their parking lot. Stinkin' punk kids. 2. This week I read a very random (for me) book. One of my facebook friends highly recommended it, and it fell under that "narrative non-fiction" genre that I'm trying to get into. The book was Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City  by Matthew Desmond. It was written a while ago, so you've all probably heard of ...
