34 Weeks

Baby is the size of a butternut squash this week.

How far along? 34 weeks - only 6 to go! The end is in sight!!

Total weight loss/gain:Didn't weigh myself this week. Dr. appointment on Monday.
Maternity clothes? Obviously.
Sleep: Not great.
Best moment this week: Jesus' birthday party!
Movement: Alll the time. I asked the doctor about her position at my appointment last week. I was right. Her feet are on my left side, butt right under my belly button, head down (and maybe her arms too? I feel a lot of punching of the bladder and cervi x - ouch!).
Food cravings: Cookies, candy, donuts - the usual.
Food aversions: Vegetables. ;-)
Gender: GIRL!!!
Labor Signs: Nothing new.
Belly Button in or out? It's almost gone. There's just a tiny nub left. Still amazingly don't have the linea negra. I had it by this time with Lucy. Why would it be different this time? So strange.

What I miss: Regular clothes.

What I am looking forward to: Christmas! :-)
Milestones: I think someone told me once that most babies have the sucking refle
x by 34 weeks, but none of my emails said anything about that. One website I went to said she's urinating a pint of fluid a day! That's gross.
Weekly name clue: I wrote in my Saturday 7 that I was wavering on the name. But Justin said the name we have picked is her name and I'm not allowed to waver or over-think it. Haha. Thank goodness someone still has their head on straight. That said, I'm really running out of clues . . . Here's one: Her name means almost exactly the same thing as another person in our immediate family.

My pain hasn't gotten any better. I think it might be here to stay now. I have a constantly bruised feeling - like I fell on a balance beam or have been riding a horse too long. Haha. That pain never goes away - I wake up with it in the morning and go to bed with it at night. The pubic bone pain gets worse with activity. So I'm giving myself even more license to be a couch potato. Justin did the grocery shopping this week, we're not going to go to story time anymore, I'm not going to worry about keeping my house clean. (So please don't stop over. Haha.) Fortunately I have my Christmas shopping done except for stocking stuffers. Poor Lucy is going to be watching a lot of movies. Not that she minds!!

  1. Yes, give yourself permission to rest, for sure! Nothing wrong with movies for Lucy:)

I've obviously been resting all the time and therefore the posterior pubic bone pain I had was pretty much gone -- then the other day I did a few things (like ridiculously little things) and the pain came back so intensely -- OW! I can't imagine how much yours must be hurting with all you've been doing.

Yay for baby being head down! I cannot for the life of me figure out which way our little guy is facing -- I could totally tell with Brooklyn. I feel slightly comforted that the doctor tries to feel at each appointment and can't tell either. When we had the ultrasound at 26 weeks when I had the contractions, he was head up, and we're hoping he gets head down -- I have an anterior placenta which is apparently associated with more breech positions...we keep telling him to get head down:)
