The Saturday 7

1. On Monday, all the schools around us had their first snow day. But my kids didn't know that, and we took all of last week off, so we pressed on. Haha. #meanmom We're studying France right now, and it's totally overwhelming. There is so much we could delve into. Last week, I tried to do a general overview and focus on some of the main tourist attractions like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, as well as a couple quick YouTube videos about French fashion throughout the years. The beauty of homeschooling is that I can hit what my kids are interested in - like fashion. Of course we had to try our hand at making the Eiffel Tower:
Wafer cookies, sugar cones, and frosting

Levi was a big fan of this lesson!

Precarious work

Next week we're going to learn about French art and impressionism. Stay tuned!

P.S. Good news: we finished Snow Treasure. I enjoyed it way more than my girls did, but I still think they liked it more than they let on. Haha.

2. We went and saw another house this week. It was the biggest one we've seen so far and in much nicer shape than some we've seen. But the price reflects that. It's been on the market for 2 months, but it's $20,000 over our budget. Ugh. We've been toying with the idea of building since Justin and his dad could do a lot of the labor, but I'm still not convinced we can afford to build either. Life is expensive!

3. I can't think of anything else to share! I spent all week planning and prepping and researching and cleaning and cooking. It was the perfect storm of planning the Jesus Birthday Party, this year's Advent Activities, and homeschool. It's not like I knew any of these things were coming up, right? Haha. I work best under pressure. ;-) So I'm sorry for being lame, but I guess that's it for this week! Here are a few more pictures to make up for it . . .

I really want to make this our Christmas card. Something like "We hope your Christmas joy is as high as our pants." Lol!

Adventures in potty training (not making much progress, in case you wondered)

Imagine Lena's delight when she got to the bottom of the raspberry container and found this. At least it was dead!

Levi's new favorite past time. Grrrr.

Good thing he's so cute.

Testing out the halo headbands

I forgot to add this to my Jesus Birthday Party post. The lighting is bad, but look at the adorable animals Lena made for our "stable."
